Connecticut News: Zoning Requirements for Interior Projects in Greenwich

For interior construction projects, such as offices, build-outs or retail spaces, the Town of Greenwich, Conn., requires Zoning Department approval prior to filing with the Buildings Department.

The Town of Greenwich’s Zoning Regulations (Section 6-100.1 – Employee Density) require that a building’s total occupants cannot exceed the number of employees, or the 1.2 times the number parking spaces available at the site.

Variables considered by the Zoning Department include walking distance to mass transit, shuttle programs and valet service.

So if your project might result in higher occupancy in your building, make sure you address the zoning regulations first.
