Milrose was brought on to provide code and zoning consulting and municipal permit expediting services on a four-year multi-phased full renovation to Macy’s Herald Square. The renovation project consisted of a 100,000 square-foot expansion, bringing the total retail space in the flagship store to 1.2 million square-feet. Originally built in 1902, the last renovation took place in 1932.

Proper pre-project planning enabled us to obtain the initial permit ahead of schedule and meet client’s the Black Friday target date where at least 15,000 people waited outside the flagship store for its opening. A world-class medical center, located in the heart of Manhattan with a growing outpatient network, sought a building code consultant that would enable them to remain the nation’s number one hospital in overall safety while undergoing major transformations to the medical center’s facilities.
