Gas Piping Work Civil Penalty Amnesty Program Ends on October 5th

The Gas Piping Work Civil Penalty Amnesty Program established by Local Law 158 of 2016 will end on October 5, 2017. The program was designed to encourage the repair of any gas piping work that was completed without a permit from April 5, 2017 to October 5, 2017.

The program waived any penalties for the legalization of gas piping systems and fees related to a violation for work performed without a permit if:
  • The work in violation was completed before April 5, 2017 and the penalty fees have not been paid off
  • The applicant applies for a permit to resolve the improper work after April 5, 2017 and before October 5, 2017
  • The application is signed off within one year from the day the permit is issued

Any Gas Piping Work Civil Penalty Amnesty jobs must be submitted as a Limited Alteration Application (LAA) job.

To take advantage of the Gas Piping Work Civil Penalty Amnesty Program, complete the LAA1 form or contact Milrose to have us handle the form submission and penalty waiver process for you. For more information on the amnesty program, view the September 2017 DOB Service Update.
