“Broadcasting livestreaming videos of Board of Zoning Appeals meetings online will help residents who are unable to attend these public hearings to keep up to date on zoning matters that may impact their communities and areas across the town.”  said Hempstead Town Supervisor  Anthony J. Santino in a news release

Town of Brookhaven

The Town of Brookhaven passed a new bill changing the town’s zoning code from A1 Residential to a new zoning code called Golf Course District (GCD). Councilman Dan Panico created the new zoning code in order to protect golf courses, both public and private from future development.

By creating this code, we have protected vistas, open spaces and commercial recreational opportunities that coincide with golf courses, as well as the character of the communities where they exist,” said Councilman Dan Panico. In addition, the ordinance will help ensure that new housing developments do not overburden the school district.
