Throwback Thursday: 375 Pearl Street

Once dubbed by many as the “Ugliest Building in New York City,” 375 Pearl Street is getting a much needed face lift.

In 2011 Sabey Data Centers acquired the dull and narrow-windowed property with visions of transforming the former telephone equipment building into Intergate.Manhattan, the most efficient data center in NYC.  The City’s only purpose-built data facility, Intergate.Manhattan features a high-powered cloud-based infrastructure that enables it to house critical data for public and private entities alike.

Current Progress on 375 Pearl Street

After years of infrastructure upgrades, Sabey is near completion on their cosmetic upgrades and tenants have begun moving into the building. To better market the building to tenants, many who are looking for technology-based office space, Sabey is moving forward with the “glassy façade facelift” that was planned for the building prior to the 2008 market crash. Once completed, 375 Pearl Street will provide breathtaking views of the East River and its bridges, as well as the NYC skyline from multiple exposures.

Slated for completion in the coming months, the new window wall will soon be enjoyed by the NYC Department of Finance who inked an 183,000 square foot lease with Sabey earlier this year.
