Throwback Thursday: The Brewster Building

Now the corporate headquarters of JetBlue Airways, the Brewster Building located at 27-01 Queens Plaza North in Long Island City, was originally constructed in 1911 to handle the assembly of Brewster cars, Rolls Royce cars and World War II airplanes.

Fast forward to the 2000s - Milrose Consultants had the pleasure of assisting in converting the historic building into high-tech office space for MetLife. Our firm provided code consulting and permit expediting services from 2001 until 2010 when final Certificate of Occupancy’s were secured for the building. Infill work for the project was completed by Gensler through Brause Realty while GKV Architects completed the interior work through Metlife. The 700,000 square foot office building became the corporate home to JetBlue Airways in 2012. For more information on the history of the building, visit it's Brause Realty Property Profile
