Effective June 2, 2019: FA, FP & FPP work types to be filed with the FDNY

Effective June 2, 2019, in accordance with Local Law 195 of 2018, Fire Alarm (FA), Fire Suppression (FP), and Fire Protection Plan (FPP) work types will no longer be filed with the DOB. Applicants must file these work types with The Fire Department of New York (FDNY) and pay the filing fees to FDNY. Please refer to the pertaining Service Notice for more information. 

Jobs filed with DOB before June 2, 2019

  • These jobs will follow the current process. Amendments to these jobs will continue to be filed with DOB.
  • Jobs that are not in “A” through “D” status in the Buildings Information System (BIS) as of June 2, 2019, must be filed with FDNY (please refer to chart below).
